SmartFirmer precision sowing systems
Choose the right seed medium
During sowing, you can dig up and check several seeds in one field. Having an observation on a very small part of the sown seeds, it is very likely that you will only guess what the state of the rest is. For those that you cannot observe, you can only hope that they are in the best environment to start their development.
Know the conditions in the furrow just as you know your plants!
- The spread around the seed allows you to see only a particle of the seed sown in the field.
- SmartFirmer measures temperature, humidity and plant residues in the furrow by displaying the measurements in the 20|20 terminal
- SmartFirmer can control the seeding rate, fertilizer rate and hybrid rate based on soil organics.

Control of organic material
A VRA can be a bold step to take on a farm. Many growers have not yet calculated the most lucrative improvements from the use of precision farming — price, prescriptions or time. With SmartFirmer, you can use variable rate fertilization with ease, using organic matter as a metric to determine how good quality the seed is or the required amount of fertilizer to be applied for a given plot.
With the 20|20 display, you can set what level of organic matter you want to have in a specific area, and SmartFirmer measures the different organic matter levels in the field — giving clear signals when a change is needed — automatically. The hybrid can also be changed during operation. By counting the levels of organic matter, you will find that there are different conditions of the crops sown, as well as different levels of fertilizers and hybrids. This is a convenient and easy way that you will be able to increase the productivity of your field.
SmartFirmer connects to 20|20 diplay directly in the cab, and to vDrive, vApplyHD, as well as mSet, so you can control organic matter levels in the field.

How does Smart Firmer work?
Advantages
SmartFirmer gives you security
SmartFirmer is a seed condition sensor that presses the seed to the bottom of the furrow. SmartFirmer gives you information about the medium in which the seed is placed and whether it is in good shape. It can also show you the different variations you may have in your field
Soil Moisture
Proper soil moistening is necessary for the seed to germinate. If the soil does not have enough moisture, for the germination of the seed, rain or irrigation is necessary, which will provide the necessary water for the proper growth of the seeds. SmartFirmer measures and displays soil moisture in the cab — so you can make adjustments to provide the required moisture to your crops.
Soil temperature measurement
Crops need a certain temperature to germinate, but how exactly as the temperature changes during the day? As the sun shines in the field, you sow from one type of soil to another. With SmartFirmer you can find out in real time the temperature during sowing to take the right measures.
Equal furrows
A uniform environment is necessary for uniform germination of crops and crop growth. SmartFirmer identifies any inconsistencies along the furrow such as soil lumps, air, dry soil, fallen from the surface. You will have information about each row and its productivity — so you can resolve yield loss situations.
Leftovers
Sowing residues in the furrow have a negative effect on the germination and growth of crops. SmartFirmer allows you to measure the amount of residue in the furrow and adjust the rows of wipers correctly. This ensures that the residues will not take away the moisture needed by the crops, as well as cause seed disease.
Organic matter
In each field there are several micro environments of extraction, which are determined by the difference of the field. One of the main differences comes from the presence of organic matter in different soils. The more organic matter there is in the soil, the more water and nutrients are available to the crops. By measuring and mapping organic matter, you get a clear picture of the diversity in the fields.
