Zlatya Agro and NIK implement the largest project for precision agriculture in Bulgaria!

One of the largest agricultural companies in North-West Bulgaria — Zlatya Agro, has completely modernized its machinery fleet with the latest generation of GPS equipment Trimble.

In the first month of 2021, the first stage of the implementation of the largest precision agriculture project in Bulgaria was completed. Zlatya Agro equips all new John Deere tractors with display Trimble GFX-750, autopilot and RTK accuracy of 2 cm.The 8-series tractors of the American brand were ordered without production equipment and installed with Trimble systems in time for the upcoming campaign.

Another part of the project covers the renovation of the remaining tractors on the farm again with a Trimble GFX-750 display and autopilot.

In order to fully modernize the machine fleet, Berthoud, Tecnoma and Class harvesters, which have been operating for years with Trimble, are also included in the project. Thus, the total number of self-propelled machines operating with the latest generation GPS equipment Trimble, is over 100.

In addition to the Trimble GFX-750 display with autopilot, the farm machines run on the Trimble AutoSync software platform.

“Automatic data exchange with AutoSync has been available to Bulgarian farmers for years. Through the software, navigation lines, field names and boundaries, cultivated area, operator information, variable fertilization maps (VRA cards), location and other important machine information are exchanged in just a few clicks.” explained Todor Shishkov, Commercial Director, NIK

“Part of our goals with Trimble equipment are process automation and cost optimization for a more profitable farm. In addition, data management between all machines and the office is of increasing importance to us. The digitization of data exchange between connected devices with AutoSync on the one hand will allow better synchronization of processes and their planning. And on the other hand, it will help in making informed and timely decisions” — Eng. Denislav Alexandrov, Fleet Manager, Zlatya Agro

“With Zlatya Agro we are also working on another project for precision agriculture. For several years, the practice of soil sampling and analysis has been implemented in the farm. The results of the application of variable rate fertilization are already available. Through agronomic service AgroBalanceon the farm, they report a reduction in fertilization costs, better yields and an improvement in soil stock.

The partnership between the two companies is proof that Bulgarian farms rely on comprehensive solutions and a reliable partner to optimize agricultural processes and achieve higher work productivity.” said Kaloyan Kumanov, Business Development Manager, NIK
