When is the right time to choose tillage inventory - part 1

When is the right time to choose tillage inventory and how to make the right choice for your farm?
Spring is one of the most active seasons for a farmer, with farmers usually focusing on crops in the field. At the same time, however, spring is also the ideal time to plan the tillage inventory needed by the farm.
What are the factors that you should consider when choosing your tillage inventory?
- The tillage system you have chosen for the next agricultural year
- The type of soil in your fields
- The availability of the machines in the country and the delivery time
Let's pay attention to each of these factors:
1. The tillage system
In the most general case, there are two reasons why you need a new tillage inventory, namely: your old inventory is technically defective or morally obsolete or you want to introduce a new practice on your farm for which you need a new type of inventory.
If you are replacing your old machine with a new one, then most likely you have an accurate idea of the type of working organs of the plow, harrow or cultivator you need, but we still advise you to check for novelties in the last 3-4 years.
One such example is the new model of scoreboard that Kverneland launched in 2021 on the market in Bulgaria, namely number 38, which combines the two most popular scoreboards in our country - number 9 and number 28.
If you want to introduce a new soil practice in the farm by minimizing the tillage in it, then in this case it is good to pay attention not only to the type of planter you will need, but what are the machines that you will need to fully implement the technology - subsoilers, cultivators, disc harrows for shallow tillage, etc.
In the diagram below you can see detailed information about which combinations of inventory are suitable for different types of technology:

2. The type of soil in your field
Soil types in Bulgaria are more than 10 species. It is important to know the type of soil in your fields and to take into account the inventory with which you will be working. With some models of cultivators, Kverneland offers more wear-resistant working organs, with which you can ensure better quality processing in abrasive soils if part of your fields are with them.

3. Availability of machines and delivery times
The safest and most commonly practiced way to have a machine, even if you decide earlier to start working in the field, is to buy a machine available in Bulgaria. - > Take a look at the range of Kverneland machines that are currently available.

However, if you want to take advantage of the opportunity to configure your tiller yourself, we suggest that you plan your purchase in advance and make a pre-order before the season. - > Contact our sales representative for a consultation on the individual configuration of your tillage inventory.
