Trimble changes its collaboration model with CNH Industrial

Technology company Trimble is updating its distribution strategy to make it easier for farmers to access precision farming solutions.
The growing demand for technology solutions applicable to mixed fleets is in line with Trimble's long-term strategy for affordable precision technologies compatible with most brands and models of machines used on farms around the world.
The company's long-term strategy is to manage its distribution channel through a local dealer network focused on selling the entire portfolio of Trimble branded precision farming solutions to provide better access, service and support for its customers.
Until now, Trimble has worked with independent distribution partners, as well as CNH Industrial (Case, New Holland). In the case of CNH Industrial, they continue to offer the technology as factory in the new tractors, but will discontinue offering Trimble precision technology as additional products under the CNH brands. Trimble technologies will now only be available through authorized precision farming dealers.
We notified CNH that we were changing the distribution of non-factory products to tractors and gave them 12 months' notice, after which we are suspending supplies of Trimble precision farming products to CNH corporate. The reason for the change is that we think it is critically important to have a dedicated channel that understands the complexity of a farm's needs and can offer the right solutions, regardless of the brand of machinery running on the farm, so that the farmer chooses the best equipment to work with.”, says Daryl Matthews, senior vice president at Trimble.
“This means that farmers will have more freedom to choose the brand of equipment that best suits their needs. In addition, they will have the support of the expert team of the local dealer who understands their challenges and can offer them the best technological solutions to improve efficiency on the farm”Matthews adds.
