Training on good fertilization practices at NIK Academy

From 19 to 21 February in Akademiya NIKtook place training on “Good fertilization practices”. A team of agronomists from NIK Agro Service presented to the participants the most important things about the management of micro and macro elements in the soil, the specifics of sampling under flat and variable fertilization rate and good practices for monitoring crops during the growing season.

During the three-day training, participants had the opportunity to interview and consultation with agronomists on specific issues and case studies. In addition to useful information on the management of nitrogen, potassium, sulfur and phosphorus, the agronomists also paid attention to the potential problems that need to be resolved before a permanent switch to the “No-till” technology.On the second day of the training, the experts also providedractic exercises involving the measurement of the pH reaction in the different fertilizers.Weather conditions did not allow conducting field activities, but the participants had the opportunity to learn more about technologies for precision sowing at Precision Plantingand the solutions for application of liquid fertilizer Startec, which will also be useful to them during the spring campaign. The third day was devoted to the integrated monitoring of crops during the growing season with the help of the satellite field scanning program — GeoScan. The participants got acquainted with the platform and the latest innovations that allow tracking the phases of crop development, weather forecast and favorable days for carrying out treatments and much more. It is through GeoScan that farmers can track how fertilization will affect crop development and better plan the next events for the year.

In February, a series of trainings on precision spraying was also held at NIK Academy, and in training on precision sowing with Precision Planting is coming at the beginning of March.
