The XAG P40 Agricultural Drone - Precision Spraying in Challenging Terrain

The days in the middle of April and after the spring sowing campaign were again marked by active work in the field. The Agricultural Drone XAG P40made its premiere with a demonstration spraying, and the role of host became the fields of North-West Bulgaria.

About spraying
Demonstration spraying took place on a farm that had sown corn and conducted spraying with a soil herbicide. The goal was to prevent weeding and ensure a calm start for the corn. The spraying rate was 1.5 l/ha of working solution and the treated area was 280 decares.

About the drone
Spraying was carried out with the agricultural drone XAG P40, which is distinguished by its 20-liter tank, the possibility of spraying with sectional control and easy control.

The agricultural Drone P40works with RTK signal correction, which provides it with up to 2 cm accuracy. This precision helps him not only to spray efficiently, but also to retract from the take-off point without any problems.

With its durable construction and water resistance, the drone met the challenges during spraying.
And what were they?
The challenges

During spraying, the main challenges were dynamically changing weather, alternating solar intervals and those with rain. Climate change combined with the characteristic relief have made traditional spraying with agricultural machines an almost impossible task. This led to the need for a new and precise way of applying the soil herbicide, namely with an agricultural drone.
