Precision Farming with Trimble and Connected Farm - Borislav Bogdanov from “Mlin 97" AD

“In a year like this, when every minute is precious, productivity increases enormously. Control devices that measure the quality indicators of the crop give us the opportunity to choose the most suitable moment to carry out an operation. In this way, we save on the most important resource - time, which we cannot buy,” said farmer Borislav Bogdanov about the benefits of implementing precision farming technologies. For two years, Mr. Bogdanov has been using innovative solutions for precision farming from Trimble. One of them is the Connected Farm technology, which facilitates and optimizes the management of the farm, bringing together information about all the activities that are carried out in it. Through the wireless transfer of data from machines to the office and back, as well as between machines in the field, the farmer realizes effective management regardless of his location. The machines on the farm are equipped with Trimble FMx navigation displays, which store the data of the treatments carried out. Collected information is transferred wirelessly and visualized in real time on the Connected Farm Dashboard online platform, accessible from any internet-connected device - PC, tablet, smartphone, and Trimble's new TMX-2050 navigation display. In this way, the farmer has all the information about his farm in a compact form, being able to update or change it at any time. In addition to exchanging data from machines to the office and back, Trimble offers Vehicle Sync technology, which allows information to be transferred between operators on the same plot, operating with an FMx display, which minimizes overlap when processing and saves materials and time. This is relevant during sowing, spraying and other treatments, not only harvesting. Thanks to Trimble's precision farming technologies, Borislav Bogdanov has reported a 20% increase in work efficiency, reducing costs and increasing his profit.Information collected from navigation displays about disking, sowing, fertilizing, harvesting and more is stored on Connected Farm servers and is always available to the farmer for an overview of the treatments of past years and comparison with the current ones.
