Precise monitoring of climate and soil moisture with Pessl

Another farm in Southwest Bulgaria will be a step ahead of the changeable weather with a new weather station Pessl and five separate radio nodes with two soil moisture sensors each. The weather station will trackclimatic features of the area, and the radio nodes will give information about soil moisture at 5 separate points of the field. In this way, farmers will receive data with even greater representativenessbecause in them they will be accounted for differences in soil throughout the field. Accurate monitoring of climate and soil moisture will be extremely useful for adjustment of watering mode and for more precise irrigation, allowing farmers to avoid common problems such as overwatering, lack of water, or leaching of nutrients from the soil. This year, the Pessl weather station and its adjacent sensors will help grow about200 acres with walnuts, having the opportunity subsequently to be used in the care of various other crops. The correct local agroforecastis one of the main advantages that Pessl weather stations provide to farmers. In combination with various humidity sensors, assessing the development of diseasesetc. weather stations become an indispensable assistant for the farmer. From the beginning of September data from Pessl stations can also be visualized through the satellite crop imaging program GeoScan— integration that allows for even more precise monitoring of crop development and taking timely measures where necessary.Contact us to learn more about Pessl weather stations and the GeoScan satellite crop imaging program.
