The NIK service team advises: How to prepare my planter for the upcoming sowing?

Step 1
The first stepis the check of the serviceability of the planter and its elements.First of all is the check of the strength of the air ducts. The important thing here is to carry out an audit and find out if there are any frayed or cracked areas that may have appeared due to wear or improper storage during the winter.Secondly, during the inspection, the support and dulling wheels and their bearings must be audited and where possible they may be greasing, in order to we are sure that they will do their job correctly during sowing. The third place is to check the serviceability of the electric motors, if your planter has them. For this check, it is necessary to attach the planter to the tractor, turn on the control display and have the planter displayed on it. Through the menu to test each electric motor separately. If your planter has a mechanical drive, then the chains and gears should be checked, and then lubricated with the lubricant specified by the manufacturer.

Step 2
The second step is greasingGreasing will ensure the proper functioning of the elements and reduce friction between their parts. Typically, the greasing locations are shown in the manual of each machine or are indicated on some of the greasing points. In the event that the planter is with a gimbal, it must also be checked and greased. For models equipped with a fertilization system, the drive mechanism and air ducts must be checked for serviceability.

Step 3
The third step is calibrationBefore making the settings and calibration of the seeder for the respective crop we must choose discs that are suitable for the type and size of the seeds that we are going to use. After we have done all the checks on the machine and we have not identified any reasons for concern we can put the selected seed in the baskets and do a test with it and calibrate the machine. The mandatory step here is to turn the fan and check the vacuum.
