The Manager of NIK took part in a discussion about new technologies in agriculture

On 06.06.17 in Sofia the forum “New technologies in agriculture” was held. The event was organized by the newspaper “24 horas” and the magazine”. BG/Inovator.bg “as part of the national campaign “The New BG Economy”. At the invitation of the organizers, the manager of NIK Ivo Kumanov took part in discussion on “The experience of business and science”. Among the participants in the debate were the presidents of the National Academy of Sciences — Svetoslav Rusalov and of the Agricultural Academy — Prof. Ivan Pachev, the Rector of “Agrarian University” Plovdiv — prof. Hristina Jancheva and various business representatives.The main topics that were touched upon during the discussion were related to latest trends in agriculture in Bulgaria and around the worldand how business and science can cooperate to improve conditions for Bulgarian farmers. Ivo Kumanov shared his observations regarding the implementation of precision agriculture technologies in Bulgaria and the United States. Based on the experience that NIK has, Kumanov stated that innovations are entering the Bulgarian market much faster than abroad. At the same time The main problem is the lack of training opportunitiesof the people who will actually use the machines and equipment. According to him the good training of mechanizers and farmers is key to the successful implementation of new technologies, the modernization of agriculture and the development of the sector.
