NICK VLOG: How to avoid bad processing with a disk harrow?

In the new episode of Nik Vlog we will show you how to avoid poor processing by properly setting up your Kverneland disc harrow.

The service specialist Tsvetan Tsvetanov is already on the field to show you the quick and easy setup for guaranteed quality processing.

“Today we are in the area of Byala Slatina. Behind me is a Kverneland disc harrow, with a working grip of 5 meters. And today I will show you how to properly set up your machine for heavy soil conditions.

However, before I show you perfect machining and how to set up your machine. Let's look at an incorrectly tuned machine and a corresponding poorly performed processing.”

If the machine is set up incorrectly, an untreated area is separated between the two discs, explains Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

Tsvetan Tsvetanov: This leads to re-passage and additional costs.

Here's how to set up your machine correctly.

“Now I will show you how to properly adjust the drawbar. We release the clip and adjust according to the depth and terrain. We fix and leave the tow bar in a floating position so that the machine itself can be leveled and work correctly according to the conditions,” said Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

Once we have made the adjustment of the tow bar, the second step follows — adjusting the desired depth of the front of the machine.

“And here the adjustment is done by clips — removing and adding clips, depending on the depth you want. This will lead to the machine's horizon and a well-performed processing,” added Tsvetan Tsvetanov.

In the same way, the adjustment is carried out for the rear of the machine — we remove and add clips for the adjustment of the roller.

This is what perfect processing looks like — evenly processed area everywhere, with no gaps between the disks.

“Today I showed you how to properly adjust your disc harrow. Next time I will show you how to make the necessary adjustment in case of wear of the discs, to avoid poor processing”, said Tsvetan Tsvetanov.
