NIC at the 9th National Meeting of AZPB

During the ninth national meeting of AZPB, NIK presented several innovations in the field of precision agriculture and announced its new partnership, as well as ongoing projects in the field of renewable energy sources, in particular solar energy.

The commercial directors of NIK Tsvetan Tsvetanov (Intelligent Inventories and Machines) and Todor Shishkov (Precision Farming) presented the innovations in the field of precision agriculture — agricultural drones XAG, which have already proven to be a good investment and the solutions for artificial intelligence in the spraying of the French high-tech company CarbonBee. which are developed in partnership with many manufacturers of machinery and equipment for precision agriculture.
The novelties in precision agriculture in brief:
“The first trend that emerged in 2022 was agricultural drones, which are gaining more and more popularity in our country,” said Todor Shishkov.

“They have proven to be very useful and highly effective in various operations — herbicidal and insecticidal sprays, foliar feeding, etc. Drones make it possible to react quickly to some enemies atypical for our latitudes, such as the meadow butterfly, for example.
But the possibility of the possibility of a quick response is only one of the advantages. Spraying on wet soil and on tall crops, when traditional techniques cannot cope, was actually also of great benefit. Last but not least is the possibility of local treatment only in the areas that need it, which optimizes the used plant protection preparations in order to reduce the negative footprint on our food, and hence makes agriculture more sustainable.” - he added.

The second technology that Todor Shishkov presented was the system of selective spraying using artificial intelligence CarbonBee Smart Stricker. It allows farmers to spray only on weeds without affecting the main crop, thus realizing savings of 35% to 85% depending on the degree of weeding and the type of crop.

“The third trend that was born in 2022 and I think will develop in 2023 is the electrical independence of farms.” - said Tsvetan Tsvetanov
“The solution we can offer farmers is the construction of photovoltaic power plants, known for short as Valley Ag Solar.
Solar energy can be both a primary and an additional source of energy for a farm and production. In 2022, we mainly carried out solar installations on roofs, but in 2023 we expect the first “tracking solars”, which through a special tracker system follow the movement of the sun and increase the generation of energy in the morning and afternoon hours, when it is most expensive. These are actually also the most active watering hours and hence the combined solution for an independent pivot irrigation system with its own source of electricity, which we started with at the beginning of the previous year. ”
