New generation of pneumatic seed drills Kverneland Satio

The demands on the agriculture sector and producers are growing more and more diverse such as changing legislation, unpredictable weather conditions, the need to reduce herbicide use, the emergence of weed resistance and the rising costs of production resources and energy.

At the same time, farmers strive to implement solutions in their farms that are flexible to work in the conditions of modern agriculture.

One of these solutions was presented during the Agritechnika from Kverneland, namely the new generation of pneumatic planters Satio.

Flexibility is one of the keywords by which the new Kverneland planter can be defined. Satio is applicable for sowing at the right time, regardless of the preliminary preparation of the sowing bed.

The Kverneland Satio is a compact and lightweight 3-point mount planter designed for smaller tractors. Sowing is independent of seedbed preparation and can be carried out at higher speeds. Soil compaction is minimized, as is fuel consumption.

Satio is available with a rigid frame and a working width of 3 m and 4 m and in a hydraulic folding frame with a working width of 5 m and 6 m.

The rigid frame models have a hopper volume of 750 l or 1000 l and with a mechanically driven dosing device that doses the amount of seeds in the range from 2 kg to 380 kg per hectare.

The seed hopper of the folding frame models has a large capacity of 1700 l. The ELDOS dosing system (1-400 kg/ha) in e-com or e-bas version is electrically driven and offers maximum comfort.

To expand the field of application, Kverneland has completely redesigned the colter beam; it now comes with CX-II colters for optimal soil penetration and convenient for settings such as central depth adjustment.

As a cost-effective alternative, the CX-II colter is now also available without a pinch wheel. The special curved construction provides sufficient stability and lightens the weight of the planter itself.

With the flexible attachment of the colters, it is easy to change the row spacing according to individual needs during sowing.

For greater convenience, central adjustment of the sowing depth is standard for models with a folding frame. A full range of options are available to farmers, such as pre-sowing markers and many more, so that Satio can meet individual needs.

The Kverneland Satio is the successor to and replaces the well-known Kverneland DL autumn planter.
