How to sow more accurately with Pavel Kaloyanov — part 1

What challenges can it hide spring sowingand how to ensure maximum precision? These questions are answered by Pavel Kaloyanov from the service team of NIK in the new series of videos “How to sow more precisely?”.

Precision Planting for precision sowing.

“Thanks to Precision Planting and SeedSense 20|20 display, we get detailed data on sowing. Also, with the connected iPad and the FieldView program, we can monitor this data in real time remotely,” explained Pavel.

At each stage of crop growth, we must have accurate data on what measures need to be taken.

What's more, SeedSense 20|20 displaycan help you set up the planter, so as to increase the productivity of each sowing, for each day of sowing.

Another of the factors that we must not neglect to have good results when sowing is to control the sowing rate well. As well as placing the seeds at an equal distance from each other in the soil.

“Precision Planting's VSet seeder handles this task with ease as well. Its effectiveness comes from the fact that we have a very large selection of sowing discs, from which we can choose the right one for us, according to the size of the seeds and thus achieve a good sowing”, explained Paul.

Choose the most correct sowing discs so that sowing is as efficient as possible.

Here, the quality of sowing in different crops is guaranteed by 13 types of specially designed discs, depending on the shape and size of the seeds.

The next challenge for farmers during spring sowingis the soil. We all know that in one field the soil structure can be different. In some cases, with compacted soils, the weight of the section may be insufficient to reach the desired seeding depth. Conversely, if we have soft soils, the weight of the section may be too large and overcompaction may occur.

One of the most important tasks of the farmer during sowing is to make sure that the planter uses the most appropriate pressure when sowing.

“To ensure that this planter will reach the desired seeding depth, it is equipped with a pressure control system DeltaForce. The system is a combination of a pressure monitoring sensor and a cylinder that applies the pressure of the section and raises it if necessary,” added Pavel Kaloyanov.

Achieving a uniform seeding depth contributes to uniform germination of plants and leads to higher results.

These were some of the advice of Pavel Kaloyanov, which it is advisable to pay attention to if you want a good spring sowing.
