Berthoud Spectre draws visitors' attention during Agritechnica 2023

A week after the largest agro exhibition in Europe, it is time to shift the focus to the innovations and smart machines that were presented during the event. At Berthoud's stand, the Specter self-propelled sprayer definitely stood out.

François-Xavier Janine, Director of Self-Propelled Machinery, Innovation and Services, France Pulve will tell us more about it:
Today I present you the Berthoud Specter self-propelled sprayer. The machine is available in two models — with a front bar and one with a front cab and rear position of the bars.
Both models have a tank with a total volume — 5200 liters and rods from 24 to 38 m. The cabin has the 4th category of protection, which ensures the safety of the operator. The chassis has a fully active suspension and a Deutz engine and 250 hp.
Berthoud Spectre has a hydraulically adjustable track from 2 — 2.7 m and from 2.20 — 3.20 m. The hydraulically adjustable clearance from 1.25 m high to 1.80 m makes it a suitable solution for spraying tall crops, such as corn and sunflower.

As standard with our sprayers, here too we have easy automatic control from the cabin. This allows the operator to perform all necessary settings and functions from the cab without the need to leave it, such as when the machine is in wash mode.
Spectre is fully ISOBUS compliant. In this regard, the news also came during Agritechnica, namely a partnership between Berthoud and Bayer involving FieldView. As a result of this collaboration, all machines will now be delivered equipped with FieldView. This, in turn, enables the operator to manage and control the spraying quality in real time and completely automatically.

The Berthoud Specter self-propelled sprayer is standard equipped with PWM /pulse modulation/. This allows the operator to manage the quality of spraying, select and maintain the required pressure, regardless of the operating speed.
Pulse modulation allows the machine to be upgraded with the Sniper system and thus we control the opening and closing of the nozzles for the purpose of selective spraying.
Sniper is a system with which we can spray Green on Brown (treatment of all green plants) and the use of preparations such as glyphosate is optimized. The system can detect weeds and moisture preparation only on them and in an already developed crop.
With the Sniper system, we have sensors installed every 3 meters, and in combination with Spraytronic, spraying nozzle by nozzle and control of the norm through each of them is carried out.
All these features of Berthoud Spectre earned her the Machine of the Year award last year /SIMA/.
