10 years of precision farming in Bulgaria together with NIK and Trimble

About 10 years ago, the American company offering GPS equipment for precision agriculture Trimble began to offer its products in Bulgaria through the team of the company NIK Electronics. Trimble is a company founded in 1978, which for almost 40 years has been developing GPS solutions for various industries, among which is agriculture, and it is one of the main industries on which the company emphasizes nowadays. For this period of 10 years, precision farming products are already well known to Bulgarian farmers, many of them applying more than just navigation to precision farming on their farms. Thus, they can not only optimize their costs, but also monitor in real time the processing on their farm with the help of digital technologies.In 2005, the first customers of Trimble in Bulgaria showed themselves as innovators, trusting the NIK team and implementing in their farms a GPS display with application mainly in fertilizer.Farmers who trust then of Trimble as their first GPS unit for agriculture and to this day they remain faithful to the brand, multiplying the number of navigations on tractors no matter if they are old or new and what is their brand.Later, the introduction of automatic control systems such as Trimble Autopilot enabled sowing and hoeing, which after 2009 became a mass phenomenon on the Bulgarian field.An interesting fact is that in 2009 the NIK team implemented for the first time in the world the automatic control system Trimble Autopilot on a tractor with the Belarus brand and then followed the modernization of many other older machines of the same brand.To date, most machines on farms are already equipped not only with GPS display and control to it, and also with slope inventory control systems, systems controlling the sprinkler sections such as Trimble FieldIQ and a Yield Monitoring system compiling a detailed digital map of yield during harvest. Now information moves wirelessly, and any innovative farmer can more easily track the processing on his farm from a mobile phone or computer.
